FlipStraw actuator was awarded at BAMA Forum & Awards 2025
On October 15th, LINDAL Group was honoured at the BAMA Forum & Awards 2025, when our FlipStraw actuator came top in the Aerosol Packaging category. This recognition from the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) not only celebrates a remarkable achievement, it also highlights our team’s dedication to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in aerosol packaging technology.
The judges commended FlipStraw’s plastic reduction as a key feature of our product, recognising the valuable contribution to the global effort towards sustainability.
What is FlipStraw?
FlipStraw is an innovative dual-spray actuator featuring a foldable straw, developed to combine functional performance with an eco-friendly, lightweight design. Specifically engineered for homecare and technical aerosol applications, FlipStraw represents a new benchmark in sustainable aerosol actuator design.
From concept to production, our goal was to maximise efficiency and durability while minimising plastic use. On average, FlipStraw weighs 3 grams less than comparable actuators available on the market, significantly lowering material consumption. Despite this weight reduction, it maintains robust sealing performance, leak-free transport, and high durability through repeated opening and closing cycles.
FlipStraw benefits and features
FlipStraw represents a major innovation in dual-spray actuator systems, expanding the range of aerosol spray options available to brand owners and formulators. It supports both fine mist sprays for even coverage and precision jet streams for targeted applications.
Its unique design requires no pre-heating prior to assembly, helping streamline the production process, save energy, and improve manufacturing sustainability.
Compatible with multiple valve types — including LINDAL’s male valves (LI) and one-inch ball valves (LIB) — FlipStraw can be used in standard and inverted positions, offering maximum flexibility for diverse product formulations.
Designed and manufactured in Europe
FlipStraw is proudly manufactured within the European Union, ensuring faster lead times, reduced transportation emissions, and enhanced customer support across Europe. This localised production strengthens LINDAL’s commitment to sustainable aerosol supply chains and responsible manufacturing.
The actuator was developed by our Global Innovation Centre team in France, in close collaboration with our Customer Technical Services (CTS) and Sales teams, and with the valued support of our partner Ambro-Sol. Their participation in the first industrial trials was key to optimising FlipStraw’s design for real-world, high-volume production environments.
A double recognition for sustainable innovation
This honour marks the second award for FlipStraw since its market debut, following the Sustainability Award received at AEDA annual forum (Spanish Aerosol Association) in August.
