A subsidiary of the LINDAL Group based in Harelbeke, Belgium
Acquired by the LINDAL Group in 2011, Altachem specialise in the manufacturing of high delivery valves and guns.
Originally founded in 1992 and home to 30 dedicated employees, Altachem is the world’s leader in the development and production of valves, application tools and accessories for 1K-PU foam (1 component PU foam) in pressurised cannisters. With a turnover of around 30 million euros and a continued focus on further growth and innovation, Altachem retains a strong position in the world of 1K-PU foam, adhesives and sealants.
In 2023 Altachem has been recognised as a ‘Factory of the Future’. The site in Harelbeke utilises technology throughout the plant, ranging from the latest ERP system to ensure a paperless shop floor to testing and implenting AGV’s (Automated Guided Vehicles) to improve efficiency in production. There is also a strong workplace culture at Altachem with the ‘Be The Change’ programme focusing on training employees to improve their individual skill sets. Altafit! is also another important internal initiative that focuses on employee wellbeing to create a healthier and happier workplace.

Altachem awarded Factory of the Future status
The Factory of the Future Awards 2023 recognise future-oriented factories with the most advanced digital technologies used to implement intelligent and sustainable processes. Altachem is only the 50th company to receive the award so far in Belgium, with around just 4-5 companies a year achieving the prestigious status.
The Altachem team were presented with the award by Jo Brouns, the Flemish Minister of Social Economy and Agriculture at the Factory of the Future 2023 award ceremony on the 7th February at Technopolis Hall in Mechelen, Belgium.

Altachem celebrates 30 years of success
Leading manufacturer of high delivery valves and guns, Altachem celebrated its 30th anniversary with a unique event that showcased the innovative machinery and technology that has helped generate three decades of success.
Employees, key customers, and local officials attended the open-day celebration on the 23rd of September at the company’s plant in Harelbeke, Belgium. Managing director, Jean-Marie Poppe opened the plant’s doors for visitors to discover more about its high-level technology and how it has helped the company become the market leader in the production of valves, application tools and accessories for 1K-PU foam in pressurised cannisters.
