At Paris Packaging Week 2026, during the Global Aerosols & Dispensing Forum, LINDAL Group was proud to take part in a high-level panel discussion dedicated to one of the most pressing topics in our industry: the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
Representing LINDAL as a panel speaker, Manon Pascal, Group Regulatory Affairs Manager, shared insights on how the new regulatory framework is reshaping the aerosol and dispensing sector — and how companies can transform compliance challenges into innovation opportunities
Understanding the PPWR: a transformational shift
The PPWR introduces significant changes that will impact all packaging placed on the EU market. Among the key milestones discussed during the panel:
- All packaging must be recyclable by 1 January 2030 (with certain exemptions).
- Design-for-recycling criteria and recycling performance grades will be defined by January 2028.
- Minimum recycled content requirements for plastic packaging components will apply, with calculation methods expected by December 2026.
- By 2030, packaging weight and volume must be reduced to the minimum necessary to ensure functionality.
The regulation also introduces enhanced documentation requirements and sustainability measures, including recyclability performance, packaging minimisation, and labelling systems such as QR codes.
As highlighted during the discussion, the timeline ahead is demanding — but it also creates momentum for meaningful transformation.

The panel brought together several industry experts, each addressing different aspects of how the PPWR will affect packaging design, materials, supply chains, compliance strategies, and technological development.
